Regular parent education meetings take place one morning a month during one of the scheduled school days. Children attend school as usual with substitute teachers and a few parent helpers, while class parents attend a morning meeting with their class teacher.
During parent education meetings, a variety of topics are covered throughout the year to support parents during the various stages of their child's development. Topics may include, but are not limited to, handling meltdowns, effective communication, managing bedtime challenges, learning about your child's temperament, and handling transitions with your child. Opportunities to build community, connect with the teacher, and make plans for the coming weeks and months ahead abound during these meetings and they often become a highlight of the LAPP experience for many families.
Fall meetings include the All-Member Coffee and Conflict Resolution Seminar. LAPP also hosts a guest speaker in January.
